Sarah is intuitive, genuine and insightful. Each class gave me a little gem of information or inspiration that I regularly refer to now in my life. Whether you want to get into acting professionally, challenge yourself personally or learn about human character, this is the place.

This workshop is for anyone who wondered about ‘giving it a go’ but felt a little self conscious... we were all in the same boat in the beginner’s class and by the end were able to deliver a monologue to some new best friends. Sarah really makes it easy to get over any inhibitions. Highly recommended. Can’t wait for level 2!

As a long-time student of Galway Actor’s Workshop I would recommend the classes to actors at any level. I’ve seen students go from terrified to confident over the course of one semester, and been blown away by some of the performances I’ve seen in the student showcases. When I walked into my first class years ago I was paralyzed with stage fright, but I went on to perform on a professional level. Sarah’s understanding of both technique and text is incredible, and her encouraging way with students always brings out their best. The guest instructors always bring something valuable to the class. We have a lot of fun, too!

Sarah runs brilliant courses. She is a dedicated and able teacher who has helped me enormously as an actor and playwright. Cannot recommend highly enough. I have also either worked with or been taught by Orla McGovern, Conor Geoghegan and Darragh O’Brien. They are all excellent teachers.

You get more than you pay for with these classes and no matter the obstacle, whether it be wind, rain, hail or snow. Sarah will be there with a smile on her face and ready to dive into class.

Honestly, if you’re looking for a relaxed, fun and no-pressure environment to grow in whatever manner you desire, whether it be as an actor as a person.

Then this is the class for you.

These courses really allow you to play with that inner child in a relaxing and freeing atmosphere... whether it’s something you want to do as a hobby or study more seriously, Sarah O’Toole offers brilliant training and guaranteed craic in a small group scenario. I met some wonderful people here who I’m glad to still call friends. I laughed, let loose and learned to be silly in front of strangers. It was an amazing experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone who was thinking of giving it a go!

I joined Galway Actors Workshop to gain confidence in public speaking. The courses I did turned out to be one of the most valuable experiences of my life. Not only I felt marked improvement in public speaking, I started enjoying acting and being around other actors! I ended up doing the Scene Study, after the beginners course, and performed in the Town Hall Theater. Apart from the workshops providing a great learning atmosphere, they are an excellent opportunity to get to know the world of acting and theater (if you are a beginner) and one makes great friends! Highly recommended.

‘Stand Up is surely the most terrifying thing someone can do?’ That’s what people say, yet there I was on a Thursday at the end of June opening the comedy showcase, with my own set! ME? And the audience laughed - in all the right places. Honestly, it was such a thrill, I am working on doing some more! And this is the same woman who didn’t want to read a script in a room with 10 other people.

Galway Actors Workshop has given me so much & if you have ever wanted to try, I implore you to sign up You will absolutely surprise yourself.
