In keeping with our long-term plan to provide quality drama training for everyone all along the Western Seaboard, we’re now running our second 8 week course for adults at Cloughleigh Community Hall in Ennis, starting Wednesday 2nd October.
The course, taught by experienced actor, director and facilitator Sarah O’Toole, is a continuation from the Acting for Adults course we ran over the Summer, and will revisit key themes such as character, relationships, objectives, space, ensemble, story-telling, voice, physicality and text, but in a more detailed way and we will be working with playscripts a lot earlier in the term and picking up important skills in rehearsal and taking direction. Half way through the course, students will be given a scene to work on, which we will then work towards preparing for a showcase performance in Cloughleigh Community Hall on Wednesday 4th December to which family and friends will be invited.
It’s suitable for confident beginners or those who might have done a school play or acting course before and is perfect for anyone who's always wanted to give acting a try, or just wants to build confidence, have fun and meet people.
By the end of the course, they should have greater confidence in an audition or rehearsal situation and have tools to bring their own creativity to bear on the work.
Should there be sufficient demand, we would also be happy to run a 6 week absolute beginners’ Acting 101 course later in the term. Message us here, if this is something you would be interested in.
